"Dogs have owners; cats have staff"

Dogs have owners; cats have staff.

Chia is a 10 year old Shiba-Inu, who came down from New Hampshire with her family to escape from the cold for a week. She seemed quite contented in Savannah’s balmy clime.
Sassy at nearly one year old, is a Beagle Mix, who loves to play with her small human companion of about the same toddler age, and lives happily in her new house and yard. Owner: Kim Schoen
Skynyrd is a 5-1/2 year old Bichon Friese. My sisters and children gave him to me for Christmas and he's one of the best presents I've ever gotten. When the cats get under a table or chair to keep me from putting them out, all I have to do is say "Skynyrd, get the cat". He goes to the cat and holds it with his paw till I get to him. Skynyrd RULES! Often, he does the "Bichon Blitz", running as hard as he can through the house --kitchen, living room, bedroom, over the sofa, over the chair, over the bed. He'll come to a dead halt and in an instant starts the "blitz" again. And it is a Bichon trait, but he does actually smile. You can see his little mouth curve up when he's happy and those bright, little black eyes. As you can tell, he is my baby. Owner: Andy Maner
Li’l Kit was rescued from a gas station in Pooler on a rainy night in March of 2004. Her birthday is celebrated on Valentine’s and this makes her one year old. She is very talkative and she may be trying to tell us that she is ac tually the true ruler of the roost. When she isn’t catching lizards, she is mousing with one of other other cats, MoMo. Staff: Galen Kidder
Julio Julio is about 5 months old. He is a mix with something (its unknown). We got him from the Humane Society. Julio loves playing fetch and going to the park. He is very friendly and gets along well with anyone who wants to be friends. He loves homemade treats from Canine Palace and has a passion for shoes and socks Owner: Nina Lindner-Lesser
Mardi is a 6 year old, apartment sized, Labrador-ish dog whose birthday is always celebrated on Fat Tuesday, no matter what date that is. She has her very own chair which, much to her frustration, is now occupied by cats more often than not. Frisbee and the “Chuck It” ball thrower are her favorite games, with sneaking cat food following as a close second! Owner: Galen Kidder
Romeo is a one-year-old border collie-golden retriever mix. He is very sweet and playful, and loves meeting new friends, both humans and dogs. I got Romeo from the Claxton Humane Society when he was 12 weeks old. Owner: Laura Sue Reagan
Tasha was born in a snowbank behind the company where I used to work. She lived in my office with her mama until she was old enough to go home with me. Unfortunately that was almost 18 years ago, and I thought she was too old to move to Savannah with me, so she stayed at my mom's house. Boy, do I miss her. Staff: Julie Barcelou
Mia is the smartest cat I've ever had (I swear she understands, and can speak, English. She just doesn't want the rest of us to know). She's about 6 years old, and tells ME what to do. She is also my bodyguard, and has actually chased people, and dogs, out of our yard. I couldn't live without her Staff: Julie Barcelou
