There’s long been a dearth of places to get a bite of food late at night in Savannah, but the Metro Coffee House makes it easier. In fact, the Metro makes a lot of things easier.
If you want a healthy snack at 1 a.m. after too much partying, or if you need a jolt of super-strong coffee for the same reason, head for the Metro. You’ll find sandwiches and vegetarian fare, plenty of stuff for the sweet tooth, including the trendy Bubble Tea, so hard to find in Savannah, luscious smoothies and such for re-hydration and refreshment. Or the “Big Wake Up,” a huge “shock coffee.”
And it’s fun. The large open space makes it easy to spy a pal who’s just walked in; tables are arranged for comfort, conversation and coziness. Opened about a year ago by a SCAD student, Marc Boese, who thought there ought to be a hang out for kids (and even those way, way past kid-hood!) to meet and network or just chat, eat and drink healthily, hear some great music, browse the internet, or just chill. Close to all the SCAD dorms, the Café is also handy to incoming tourists who often head for the Visitors Center, and has become popular with some professionals, especially those in the Green fields. Bands and special events come often (check out our SavannahBest Events Calendar), drawing big, happy crowds. Metro Coffee House |
